About Me

Adrienne Oates was born and raised in Durham, NC.  She attended an art middle school & high school in Durham called Durham School Of the Arts.  She then went to Radford, VA to get her BFA in ceramics at Radford University. While she was there she also took a watercolor class where she explored painting local cityscapes. This led to her selling her first piece of artwork.

After college she moved to Asheville, NC to work as a studio technician for Highwater Clays.  There she learned even more about ceramics while also painting watercolors of local cityscapes.  Her knowledge from being a studio technician helped her to create her own studio at home.

After 7 years in Asheville she has moved back to Durham, NC with her family to pursue being a full time artist.  She sells her work online and at local shows in the Triangle.

You can also find her work at Cecy's Gallery in Durham, The Artisan Market At 305 in Durham, Hometown Apparel in Durham, & Deco in Raleigh.
